Ormond Beach is about ten minutes north of our shop. We do a lot of live oak work here, and we do it with the canopy in mind rather than just the chainsaw.
Ormond Beach has some of the best tree canopy in Volusia County, and homeowners here tend to know it. The oaks along the Ormond Scenic Loop and through the older neighborhoods off John Anderson are the reason people move here, so most of our work in Ormond is preservation rather than removal.
That changes what a good crew looks like. Cutting an oak back hard is fast and it is also how you kill a two hundred year old tree over the following decade. We prune for structure, take end weight off the limbs that need it, and leave the shape of the tree intact.
Many Ormond oaks are large enough to fall under heritage protection. We identify that before quoting so nobody gets surprised by a county requirement.
Working along John Anderson and the Loop often means tight rigging with power service lines in play. That is rope work, not drop-and-run.
Ormond beachside gets the same salt wind as Daytona. Palms here are routinely over-pruned by other crews, and a hurricane-cut palm never really recovers.
Structural pruning that clears your roof and power lines without starting a slow decline in the tree.

“Elite Tree Care did an outstanding job in explaining the condition of our tree, made a reasonable solution to resolve the issue, and trimmed out tree to help save it from being cut down. I strongly recommend this company for al tree care needs.”
Every review we have is public. Read them before you call anyone.
Read on GoogleDone properly it helps. Done badly it starts a slow decline you will not notice for years. We cut at the branch collar where the tree can seal the wound, and we do not top oaks. An ISA certified member on staff is the reason we can say that with confidence.
Tell us and we will measure it. Live oaks at thirty six inches diameter or more generally need county approval to remove. If the tree is a hazard rather than an inconvenience, there is a separate path under Florida law that we can document.
