Tree Service in New Smyrna Beach, FL

Coastal trees take a different kind of beating. We work New Smyrna regularly and quote it honestly, including when the answer is that the tree is fine.

Local knowledge

What we see on New Smyrna Beach properties.

New Smyrna splits between the beachside barrier island and the mainland, and the tree work is genuinely different on each side. On the island you are dealing with salt, wind and sand, and with trees that have adapted to all three by staying shallow and flexible.

On the mainland side, through the older streets near Canal Street and out toward Sugar Mill, you get the big live oaks and the same end-weight problems we see all over Volusia. Two different jobs, ten minutes apart.

Conditions here

The trees that cause problems in New Smyrna Beach.

01

Salt-pruned coastal canopy

Beachside trees are already shaped by wind. Cutting them back into a symmetrical shape fights what keeps them standing, so we work with the form rather than against it.

02

Cabbage palms and palm over-pruning

Hurricane cuts on sabal palms are the single most common piece of bad tree work we see on the coast. A palm cannot grow new fronds to replace what you strip.

03

Storm surge and saturated root plates

After a surge event, root plates soften and trees that looked stable can move. This is worth a post-storm walk even when nothing obvious came down.

“Elite Tree Care did an outstanding job in explaining the condition of our tree, made a reasonable solution to resolve the issue, and trimmed out tree to help save it from being cut down. I strongly recommend this company for al tree care needs.”

Common questions

Tree service in New Smyrna Beach, answered.

How should palms actually be trimmed?

Take the dead and hanging fronds, take the seed pods if you want less mess, and leave the green. The hurricane cut that strips a palm back to a few upright fronds weakens it and it will not recover the way an oak recovers from a bad prune.

Do you charge more to come out to the beachside?

No. New Smyrna is inside our normal service area and there is no travel surcharge for the island.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, fully licensed and insured with liability and workers compensation coverage. We will hand you the certificate before work begins if you ask for it.

Is the estimate really free?

Yes, and there is no obligation to book. We come out, walk the property, and give you a fixed price in writing that does not change on the day of the job.
